Saudanbekova Shynar Turganbekovna is a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Oriental Studies and a specialist in Japanese Studies, focusing on Far Eastern languages, education, and culture. She graduated in 2003 from the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University with a degree in Oriental Studies. From 2003 to 2009, she worked as a lecturer at T. Ryskulov Kazakh Economic University. Since 2009, she has been teaching at the Japanese Department of the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. In 2012, she completed a six-month professional development program in Urawa, Japan, under a grant from the Japan Foundation. From 2014 to 2016, she served as Senior Lecturer at the Department of Far Eastern Studies and as Deputy Head of the Department for Academic and Methodological Affairs. In 2016, she earned a Master’s degree in Foreign Philology from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. In the same year, she completed a six-month advanced training program at University of Tsukuba and received a certificate. In September 2015, she was admitted to the PhD program through a joint educational grant of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the R.B. Suleimenov Institute of Oriental Studies. During her doctoral studies, she actively participated in international academic conferences on Japan’s education system and traditional culture and published several research articles. In 2020, she successfully completed her PhD in Oriental Studies. From 2021 to 2023, she worked as Senior Lecturer and Deputy Head of the Japanese Department at the Department of Far Eastern Studies. Since September 2024, she has served as Head of the Department of Far Eastern Studies. Since 2025, she has continued her academic work as Senior Lecturer at the same department.
