Abitbayeva Ainagul Duisenovna, born in 1982, Kazakh. In 2003 she completed her Bachelor’s degree, and in 2005 her Master’s degree at the Department of Geomorphology and Cartography, Faculty of Geography, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, majoring in Geography. After graduating from the Faculty of Geography of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Abitbayeva A.D., having successfully passed the entrance examinations, pursued full-time postgraduate studies at the Institute of Geography from 2005 to 2007. In 2010 she successfully defended her кандидатская (PhD-equivalent) dissertation and was awarded the academic degree of Candidate of Geographical Sciences on June 30, 2011 (Certificate No. 0007233). Abitbayeva A.D. is a Leading Researcher at the Laboratory of Geotourism and Geomorphology of JSC Institute of Geography and Water Security. She has 20 years of experience working in a scientific organization. The main research focus of Leading Researcher Abitbayeva A.D. is the study of natural and anthropogenic factors in the emergence and development of desertification processes in Kazakhstan, as well as hazardous geodynamic processes, including abrasion processes, using geoinformation methods of mapping and remote sensing (RS). She has published more than 40 scientific works, including 10 publications in journals recommended by the authorized body, and 9 articles in scientific journals indexed in the Scopus database.
