Autobiography
I was born on April 5, 1963, in the Pakhta-Aralsky District, Syrdarya Region. She graduated from Secondary School No. 30 in Dzhambul in 1981 and from the Department of Biology at S.M. Kirov Kazakh State University in 1986. She began her career as a senior laboratory assistant and junior researcher at the wastewater laboratory of the Dzhambul Irrigation and Construction Institute, later working as head of a clinical laboratory, an environmental protection specialist, and a lecturer at the Dzhambul Pedagogical Institute. In 1993, she joined the Institute of Plant Physiology, Genetics, and Bioengineering (now the Institute of Plant Biology and Biotechnology, MES RK) as a research intern and entered postgraduate studies in 1994. I defended the candidate dissertationin 1997 on specialty "03.00.12 – Plant Physiology and Biochemistry"and worked as a junior and senior researcher, contributing to five national and three international projects (IPP, INTAS, ISTC). In 2007, she defended her doctoral dissertation titled “Physiological and Biochemical Basis of Heavy Metal Effects on Plants” (03.00.12 – Plant Physiology and Biochemistry). Since 2007, she has been with Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, serving as Associate Professor and, since 2008, Professor in the Department of Biotechnology. She holds academic titles of Associate Professor and Professor in specialty "03.01.00 – Biology", with 34 years of teaching experience. I was a superviser candidate and PhD theses and was awarded the “Best University Teacher – 2016” certificate. I participated in international IAEA projects (RER5013, KAZ5002, KAZ5003, 2012–2015) and manager of national grants (2012–2014; 2015–2017; 2025-2027) on plant tolerance to salinity and heavy metals. Her research focuses on the physiological and biochemical mechanisms of heavy metal stress, phytoremediation, and salinity tolerance in plants. I am the author of over 180 scientific works, including 22 Scopus-indexed and Web of Science publications, 6 textbooks (2 in English), 2 monographs, 4 book chapters (2 Springer), and 4 innovation patents. She has completed international training at MASHAV (Israel, 1998), University of New Hampshire (USA, 2004), University of Silesia (Poland, 2008), Tel Aviv University (2012), ETH Zurich (2015), Leuven University (2017), and online courses by the Belgian Educational Council (Brussels).
