Sisikenova Gulnara Sansyzbaevna was born in 2000
in the Saratov Region.
From 2006 to 2013, she
studied at Secondary School No. 121 in Almaty, and
from 2013 to 2017 she continued her education at
Gymnasium School No. 94 in Almaty.
In 2017, she
was admitted on an educational grant to the
Faculty of History of Al-Farabi Kazakh National
University, majoring in “Archaeology and
Ethnology.” Her undergraduate thesis was titled:
“The Cult of Animals in the Worldview of Early
Nomads: Based on Materials from East Kazakhstan.”
After completing her bachelor’s degree in 2021,
she worked as a junior researcher at the
Archaeology Museum of the RSE “Gylym Ordasy.”
Starting from 2022, she worked as a leading
specialist at the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of
History and as a specialist at the Department of
Archaeology, Ethnology, and Museology.
From 2023
to 2025, she pursued her master’s degree in
“Archaeology” at the Faculty of History of Al-
Farabi Kazakh National University. Her master’s
thesis was titled: “The Zoomorphic World in the
Rock Art of the Ancient Population of Zhetysu
(Bronze Age).”
From February to September 2025,
she worked as a leading specialist at the Museum
of the Paleolithic of Kazakhstan at Al-Farabi
Kazakh National University.
From 24 to 29 March
2025, she completed a scientific seminar on
archaeozoology and archaeobotany in Jena,
Germany.
From 4 to 10 August 2025, she
participated in a similar seminar in Bishkek,
Kyrgyzstan.
From 8 to 18 September 2025, she took
part in an archaeological school in Jonzac,
France.
Research interests: Rock art of
Kazakhstan; settlements of the Bronze Age and the
Early Iron Age.
