Тауанов Жандос Турегулович
Dr. Zhandos Turegulovich Tauanov holds a PhD in Materials Chemistry and a Master’s degree in
Chemical Engineering. He currently serves as the Head of the Department of Chemical Physics
and Materials Science at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Previously, Dr. Tauanov served
as the Deputy Director of the Research Institute for Ecology and Bioresource Sustainability
(2024–2025) at KazNU. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Chungnam National University
(South Korea, 2019–2020) and worked as a Senior Research Fellow at the Environmental Science
and Technology Group (ESTg) of Nazarbayev University (2016–2019).
He is the Principal Investigator of scientific grants funded by the Science Committee of the
Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Dr. Tauanov was
invited as a Physics Tutor at KAUST University (Saudi Arabia) under the SRSI program in 2021
and 2022. He is a recipient of the Korean Research Fellowship (2019–2020), the Kazakhstan
State Scholarship for Talented Young Scientists (2021–2022), and has been recognized as
KazNU’s Best Young Scientist (2022) and Best University Lecturer (2023). Dr. Tauanov is the
author of more than 35 scientific papers published in leading international journals. His
research achievements have been cited 728 times in Scopus, where he holds an h-index of 15.
