Autobiography

Sultanova Bakyt Bitakhanovna was born on January 5, 1963, in the village of Shien, Zhambyl District, Almaty Region. In 1982, she graduated from the Talgar Agricultural Technical College with a degree in Accounting, and in 1986 she graduated with honors from the Almaty Institute of National Economy, majoring in Accounting and Analysis of Economic Activity. From 1986 to 1991, she worked as a lecturer at the Department of Accounting and Audit of the Almaty Institute of National Economy. From 1991 to 1997, she pursued postgraduate studies. In 2001, she defended her PhD (Candidate of Economic Sciences) dissertation in specialty 08.00.12 — Accounting, Analysis, and Audit, on the topic of accounting for lease relations and internal audit at railway transport enterprises. Her total academic and teaching experience amounts to 39 years. At various times, she worked as Chief Accountant of the Almaz Production Cooperative and as a Leading Specialist at KFGIK JSC. From 1998 to 2003, she served as an Associate Professor at the Department of Finance, Accounting, and Audit of the M. Tynyshpaev Kazakh Academy of Transport and Communications, and from 2003 to 2005, she was Head of Department at the Almaty Economic University. Since 2005, she has been working at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, serving as Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Accounting and Audit (2010–2014), and currently as an Associate Professor of the Department of Finance and Accounting at the Higher School of Economics and Business. In 2007, she was awarded the state grant “Best University Teacher.” In 2013, she obtained the international diploma “International Internal Auditor.” From 2019 to 2021, she headed the faculty’s Methodological Bureau, chaired academic committees, and coordinated bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral educational programs in accounting and audit. In 2021, she was awarded the badge “Honorary Worker of Education” of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, and in 2023, she received the badge “Akhmet Baitursynuly” from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
