Seydulla Zhanibek Kanatbekuly is a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), lecturer, and researcher in the fields of thermophysics, aerodynamics, and wind energy. He was born in 1992 in the Turkestan region of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 2009, he entered the Faculty of Physics and Technology at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, majoring in Scientific Physics, and successfully completed his bachelor’s degree in 2013. In the same year, he continued his studies in the master’s program in Scientific Physics at the same university. Since 2015, he has been working as a lecturer at the Department of Thermophysics and Technical Physics at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. In 2018, he enrolled in the PhD program and in 2025 successfully defended his doctoral dissertation entitled: “Technical and Technological Solutions to the Self-Starting Problem of a Vertical-Axis Wind Energy System”, which focuses on numerical and experimental investigations of the aerodynamic performance of vertical-axis wind turbines. He is the principal investigator of the “Zhas Galym” research project (2024–2026) and also serves as a senior researcher in projects funded through grant financing (GF) and program- targeted financing (PTF). His research interests include wind energy, aerodynamics of vertical-axis wind turbines, numerical flow modeling, thermophysical processes, and renewable energy technologies. As a result of his scientific work, 20 research articles have been published, and research findings have been presented at international scientific conferences in Kazakhstan and neighboring countries.
