My name is Rauana Torekhanova. I was born on November 7, 1992 in Almaty. From an early age, I have been deeply interested in languages and communication, which naturally guided my academic and professional path. I am PhD student at Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi My doctoral research focused on gender linguistics, specifically on my dissertation topic: “Androcentrism in Kazakh language: national-cultural features”. I completed a scientific and pedagogical internship at the Academic Center “Eurasian Perspectives” in the Netherlands (January–April 2022), which broadened my international experience and research perspective. I earned a Master’s degree in Translation Studies from Kazakh Ablai Khan University of World Languages and International Relations (2014–2016) master’s research addressed translation theory, specifically “Problems of translating the concept of the picture of the world from English into Kazakh”, using Oscar Wilde’s novel The Picture of Dorian Gray as a case study. During this time, I also participated in a foreign language teaching course organized by the Center of French Studies at the University of Perpignan, France. My academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Translation Studies from the same university (2010–2014), where I focused on simultaneous interpretation and translation among English, Kazakh, and Russian, graduating with a GPA of 3.6. Professional Experience Since September 2018, I have been working as a Senior English Teacher at the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation Studies, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. My responsibilities include organizing and delivering lectures for students ranging from elementary to advanced levels, preparing coursework materials, and participating actively in university events, fairs, and academic meetings. Additionally, since January 2014, I have been working as a freelance translator and interpreter, providing language services across diverse sectors. I have translated legal, medical, corporate, and academic documents and provided interpretation at international conferences and seminars. From September 2016 to August 2018, I worked as an English teacher and Dean’s Manager on Educational Work at the Kazakh National Women Teacher Training University in Almaty. My duties included administrative management, teaching, organizing cultural and educational events, and providing translation services for students and faculty members. Skills • Excellent verbal
