M. Baltymova was born on March 22, 1976, in the Aktobe Region. In 1992, she graduated with a gold medal from Republican Boarding School No. 2 with advanced study of the Kazakh language and literature in Almaty. In 1996, she graduated with honors from the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Al-Farabi KazSNU with the qualification of Orientalist-Philologist, Teacher of Arabic Language and Literature in Secondary Educational Institutions (Bachelor’s degree). In 1998, she completed her Master’s degree with honors in Regional Studies and Oriental Philology. She studied at K. Zhubanov ARU, majoring in Foreign Philology (2017-2019) and in Law (2020-2022), earning Bachelor’s degrees in both specialties. In 2009, she defended her dissertation on the topic “Ilyas Yesenberlin’s Trilogy ‘The Nomads’: Problems of Genre and Poetics” and was awarded the degree of Candidate of Philological Sciences in the specialty 10.01.02 – Kazakh Literature. In 2018, she was awarded the academic title of Assoc. Prof. in Literary Studies. In 2015, she was honored with the title “Best University Teacher – 2015.” She began her professional career in 1996 in Almaty as a teacher of Arabic language at Kazakh Art Lyceum No. 138. Since 1998, she has been working at K. Zhubanov ARU, where she has held various positions: lecturer, senior lecturer, associate professor, professor, deputy dean of the Faculty of Philology (2002-2003), head of the Department of Kazakh Literature (2015- 2018), academic secretary of the Academic Council (2018-2022), and corporate secretary of the Board of Directors (2020-2021). From 2022 to 2023, she worked as a senior research fellow at the Al-Farabi Center of Al-Farabi KazNU. Since 2023, she has been serving as an associate professor and acting professor at the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies, and as deputy head of the department for scientific-innovative work and international relations. She is the author of more than 220 scientific and methodological works, including: “Ilyas Yesenberlin’s Historical Novels: Mastery and Artistic Expression” (monograph, 2015); “Historical Prose in Kazakh Literature” (textbook, 2016, 2018); “The Didactic Heritage of Turkic Scholars” (anthology, co-authored, 2024); “The Heritage of Al-Farabi: The Philosophy of Language and the Language of Philosophy” (collective monograph, 2024); “Dictionary of Al- Farabi’s Philosophical Terms: Arabic-Kazakh-Russian”(2025).
