Laura Sergeyevna Ryssaliyeva completed her Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in 2013–2017 and continued her studies in the Master’s program in the same specialty in 2017–2019. She began her professional career in 2019 at KazEcoProject LLP, where she worked as a Leading Specialist of the Atmospheric Air Department, focusing on the assessment and analysis of atmospheric air pollution. In 2023, she continued her research activities at the Center for Natural Resources and Sustainable Development at the Kazakh-German University. In 2020, she was admitted to the PhD program (8D05204 – Meteorology) at the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. She is the author of four scientific publications, two of which are indexed in the international databases Scopus and Web of Science. Her h-index is 1. Since 2015, she has been actively involved in research projects focused on drought studies and atmospheric air pollution. She has completed research internships at the Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (Beijing, China), the University of Wisconsin–Madison (Madison, Wisconsin, USA), and the Russian State Hydrometeorological University (Saint Petersburg, Russia). She is currently the Principal Investigator of the “Zhas Galym” research project for 2025–2027, AP25796409 “Assessment of Atmospheric Drought Risk and Development of an Early Warning System for Northern Kazakhstan Based on Machine Learning Methods.”
