Assel Mukhamedsadykova is a PhD holder and Senior Lecturer at the Department of Chinese Studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Al- Farabi Kazakh National University. She received her PhD from Xiamen University (China), where she defended her dissertation entitled “A Comparative Study of Kinship Terms in the Kazakh and Chinese Languages”. Her research interests include pragmatics, intercultural communication, forms of address, speech etiquette, and contrastive studies of Kazakh and Chinese. Her work explores the social and cultural functions of kinship terminology in contemporary discourse. She teaches Chinese language and linguistics-related courses and is actively engaged in research and publication activities in international peer-reviewed journals.
