Sagymbay Oketaу, Candidate of Geographical Sciences, Senior Lecturer.
In 1989 she graduated from the Department of Physical Geography of the Faculty of Geography
of S.M. Kirov Kazakh State University (now Al-Farabi KazNU). In 1999-2002 postgraduate
student of the Department of Physical Geography.
Since 1999, she has been working at the Department of Physical Geography, then Geography,
Land Management and Cadastre, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. In 2010 she defended
her Ph.D. thesis on the topic “Physical and geographical basis of Ile
basin toponomy (Kazakhstan part)”. Specialties 25.00.23 - Physical geography and
biogeography, soil geography, and landscape geochemistry.
The main direction of scientific research are toponymy, physical geography.
