Aizhan Assylbekova - Associate Professor, PhD, head of the Department of Cartography and Geoinformatics, Al-Farabi KazNU. In 2003 she graduated from the Faculty of Geography, al-Farabi KazNU with a degree in Geography. In the same year she entered the magistracy, which she graduated with honors. In 2010 she finished her doctoral studies with excellent marks, defended her thesis and became the first Ph.D. doctor of Kazakhstan in the specialty "Geography". Since that time, he has been working continuously at the Al-Farabi KazNU. In 2010-2013, she was the contact person of KazNU for the TEMPUS-JPCR Geoinformatics: Managing Energy, Resources, Environment - GEM project. In 2013 she entered the postdoctoral program under the EURASIA-PACIFIC UNINET-Technology Scholarship - Incoming Technology Grants program East, Central and South Asia at the University of Salzburg (Austria) on the topic "Remote Sensing". In the period 2013-2014 was a laureate of the State scholarship "Best young scientist "established by the Ministry of Education and Science of the RK. Awarded with diplomas: "The best young scientist of KazNU" (2015); "The best teacher of the university-2015" of the Ministry of Education and Science of the RK", was also awarded an anniversary medal "80 years of KazNU" (2014) and the Jubilee Medal of the Shokan Ualikhanov University in honor of the 10th anniversary of the projects TEMPUS IV, ERASMUS MUNDUS, ERASMUS +. Aizhan Assylbekova is also actively engaged in research work in the field of GIS and remote sensing. At the faculty, he participates in the implementation of fundamental and applied research projects and international projects. Regularly improves her classification in various universities and organizations around the world. An example is the internship on "Use of Earth Observation Tools is Support of Integrated Water Resources Management: Training of Trainers workshop" in Costa-Rica, San-José (2013). The main results of scientific activity have been published in more than 50 scientific works, including in journals indexed in the Scopus database (Hirsch index - h-index = 3), Web of Science and reported at foreign, international and republican scientific and practical conferences. Conducts classes in three languages: Kazakh, Russian and English. She is the author of training courses in the field of GIS and Remote Sensing, which correspond to international standards. Applies innovative teaching methods.
