My name is Marzhan Sabitkyzy Almugambetova. I was born on January 23, 1994, in Almaty, Kazakhstan. In 2012, I graduated from Abai Gymnasium School No. 59. I then entered Abylai Khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages, majoring in simultaneous interpreting at the Faculty of Philology and Translation. I completed my master’s degree at the same university in 2018. Since October 2018, I have been working as an English teacher at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. During this time, I have published several academic articles, including: • “Types Of Speech Compression While Interpreting Economic Discourse Into Kazakh Language”, 2019 (published in the Management in Education journal); • “TYPES OF SPEECH COMPRESSION WHILE INTERPRETING ECONOMIC DISCOURSE INTO KAZAKH LANGUAGE”, 2021; • “Translating Phraseological Units of English Political Discourse into Kazakh during Simultaneous Interpretation” (based on European Parliament plenary sessions), 2020 (published in the Bulletin of Abai KazNPU). I am also the author of several image articles, such as: • “30 YEARS OF COURAGE” (No. 10, 11, 2021); • “Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is a treasure trove in the world of education” (No. 4, 2022); • “Gender Equality in Kazakhstan: A Guide to Sustainable Development” (No. 4, 2024) in the Turkic World newspaper. Together with colleagues, I organized several events, including: • The literary evening “Words of Wisdom by Abai in English” as part of the “100 Books” project; • The round table “The Aral Sea Crisis and Global Water Issues” as part of a UN collaboration project. In 2024, I was promoted to Senior Lecturer.
