Ерназарова Гулзира Измухановна

Gulzira Izmukhanovna Yernazarova was born in 1973 and is of Kazakh nationality. She earned
her bachelor’s degree in 1996 from the Faculty of Biology at Al-Farabi Kazakh National
University, specializing in biotechnology, biochemistry, and plant physiology. In 1998, she
completed her master’s degree in the same field. After finishing her PhD coursework in 2000,
she began working as a junior researcher at the Laboratory of Plant Biotechnology within the
Research Institute of Biotechnology and Biological Issues at Al-Farabi KazNU.Since September
2001, she has held the position of Category II Specialist at the Department of
Biotechnology, Biochemistry, and Plant Physiology at Al-Farabi KazNU. From 2004 to 2013, she
worked at the Kazakh State Women’s Pedagogical University as an Associate Professor in the
Department of Biology and also served as Head of the Department of International Scientific
Cooperation.
Since the 2014 academic year, she has been serving as an Associate Professor at the
Department of Biotechnology at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
In 2014, she was awarded the “Badge of Honor” on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the
Kazakh State Women’s Pedagogical University. In 2024, she received a jubilee badge (Order
No. 09-0219/199) for her contribution to the development of the university on its 80th
anniversary. That same year, she was also honored with a Letter of Appreciation from the
Rector of Al-Farabi KazNU.
In 2024, by decision of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of
Kazakhstan, she was awarded the honorary title “Best University Teacher.”
Her scientific and teaching career spans 24 years, with a total work experience of 30 years.
From 2024 to 2026, she serves as a researcher on a PCF project titled: “Establishment of a
Center for Biotechnological R&D for the Development and Commercialization of Agricultural
Products and Technologies” (IRN-BR24993105).
By Order No. 239 dated February 25, 2025, she was awarded the academic title of Professor in
the field of Biological Sciences.
Over the past five years, Dr. Yernazarova has authored more than 80 scientific publications,
including 26 articles in journals indexed by the Committee for Quality Assurance in Science
and Higher Education (CQASE), and 14 articles in international databases such as Web of
Science Core Collection and Scopus. She is the author of 5 implementation acts, 1
preliminary patent, an online MOOC course (www.open.kaznu.kz), 4 educational-meth
