I, Gulzhan Asanovna Meirmanova, born on July 28, 1979, am a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 1996, I graduated from secondary school and entered Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, where I studied History. After successfully completing my degree, I actively engaged in research work and began my professional career in the field of ethnology. Since 2015, I have been working at the Department of Ethnology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. At present, I hold the position of Associate Professor. My main research interests include the traditional culture of the Kazakh people, ethnography, folklore, and the historical-cultural transformation of social institutions. My scholarly works explore Kazakh wedding customs, the institution of bride price (kalym), ethnographic and folkloric aspects of the female image, as well as demonological representations in traditional worldview. Several of my articles have been published in national and international academic journals. Currently, I continue my research in ethnology and cultural studies, while also mentoring young researchers.
