Autobiography

I, Ongarbayev Yerdos Kalimullauly, born in 1976, Kazakh, graduated with honors from undergraduate (1996), magistracy (1998) from the chemical faculty of the Al-Farabi Kazakh national university on a specialty “chemistry”. In 1998, I worked as a leading engineer of the department of scientific and technical information of the Al-Farabi KazNU. In 2001 I defended my candidate thesis on the topic “Physical and chemical transformations in oil wastes and the development of theirs utilization methods” on the specialties “petrochemistry” and “chemical physics”. From 1998 I worked as an assistant, then as a senior lecturer in the department of chemical physics. Since 2003, I worked as an associate professor at the Department of Chemical Physics and Chemistry of High-Molecular Compounds. In 2005 I received the academic title of “associate professor”. From October 2007 to May 2009, I served as Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry for Research. On August 31, 2010 I defended my doctoral thesis on the topic “Scientific basis for complex processing of heavy oils, oil residues and wastes” on the specialties “petrochemistry” and “chemical physics” (approved on 13.05.2011). From November 2, 2010 to September 19, 2018, I worked as the Dean of the Chemical Faculty of the al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Since January 2018 I have been working as a professor in the department of chemical physics and materials science. Since 2009, I also work part-time as the head of the laboratory for oxidizing processes in hydrocarbon raw materials of the RSE “Institute of Combustion Problems”. I have published 377 scientific papers, among them 5 monographs, 8 textbooks, 4 manuals, 7 standard programs, 16 prepatents and patents of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 148 articles, 186 materials and abstracts of conference reports. I am a specialist in chemical physics and petrochemistry. The field of scientific research is related to the processing of heavy oils, oil residues and wastes, petroleum refineries, production and modification of oil bitumens. I was the head and responsible executor of research on 18 topics, under my scientific guidance defended theses 1 PhD, 3 PhD, 20 masters, diploma works - 33 students. Currently I am a research supervisor of 2 PhD students and 2 projects on grant financing. In 2002 I awarded the State Youth Award “Daryn” of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the category “Science".
