Karimov Damir Akhmetbekuly, born on April 16, 2000, is a graduate of Al-Farabi Kazakh
National University. From 2018 to 2022, he completed a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy,
followed by a Master’s program in Philosophy in 2022–2024. In 2024, he was admitted to
the PhD program in Political Philosophy at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, where
he is currently continuing his doctoral studies.
Damir Karimov’s professional activities are closely connected with teaching, research,
and the development of an intellectual and debate-oriented environment among students
and young people. From 2021 to 2023, he served as the Lead Debate Specialist at the
Center for Work with Gifted Children of the Almaty City Department of Education. In
2023–2024, he headed the Debate Office of the Palace of Schoolchildren. In the 2024–
2025 academic year, he taught at Narxoz University, delivering courses on philosophy
and critical thinking.
He has significant experience in organizational and project management. He served as
President of the Almaty Debate Federation, founded the National Debate Federation of
the Republic of Kazakhstan, and led the project office for the development of the
debate movement at the Palace of Schoolchildren.
Karimov D.A. is a recipient of several national and international awards for his
academic work in philosophy. He is also a winner of subject-specific Olympiads and an
active participant in academic conferences. He is the author of a methodological
handbook on academic debate and several research publications dedicated to post-truth,
political identity, youth philosophy, and Kazakh intellectual traditions. He has six
years of experience in competitive debating and is recognized as one of the strongest
speakers in Almaty.
He is fluent in Kazakh, Russian, and English (IELTS 6, B2 level).
