Nurlan Muminov — PhD, Acting Associate Professor at the Department of Philosophy, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. He has more than ten years of research experience in the fields of national identity, historical and collective memory, memory politics, national security, national interests, foreign policy, and geopolitics. He is the author of numerous scholarly articles published in peer-reviewed journals in Kazakhstan and abroad. Within the framework of the national program “Rukhani Zhangyru”, he translated into Kazakh several of the world’s leading academic works from English, including “An Introduction to Political Philosophy,” “The Globalization of World Politics,” “Doing a Research Project,” and “Methods of Social Research,” as part of the project “New Humanitarian Knowledge: 100 New Textbooks in the Kazakh Language.” He is a recipient of the Young Scientist Research Grant for 2023–2025, awarded for research excellence among early-career scholars. In 2020, he participated in the international research project “MoLab Inventory of Mobilities and Socioeconomic Changes” at the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology (Germany) as a lead researcher for the Russia and Central Asia region. His work focused on analyzing the impact of political decisions taken in Russia and Kazakhstan during the COVID-19 pandemic on the socio-economic situation of migrants from Central Asia. The results of this research were published on the website of the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology.
