Autobiography

O.M. Boretsky is a Candidate of Philosophical Sciences (dissertation "The Finiteness of Human Existence as a Worldview Problem" defended in 1989) who has been working at Al-Farabi KazNU since 1983, progressing from assistant to associate professor. His total pedagogical experience is 37 years. He teaches core and specialized courses, including "Thanatology," "Rhetoric," "Aesthetics and Religious Art," "History and Philosophy of Science," and is the author of over 100 publications. O.M. Boretsky is actively involved in media and culture: he was the author and host of an educational program on Kazakh television for 15 years, has been the President of the Almaty Film Club since 2003, and hosts the "Kinobluz" program on "Classic" radio since 2013. He is recognized as one of the leading film critics in the republic. Furthermore, he is a Master of Sports, actively participates in the social and sports life of the university, and served as a specialist at the Institute of Forensic Expertise (1997– 2002). In 2017–2018, he published two original online courses on the philosophy and theory of cinema on the OpenU.kz platform.
