Bekov Askar Abdul-Halykovich, born on May 17, 1948 in Alma-Ata. In 1966 he entered and in 1971 graduated from the Physics Department of the Kazakh State University, specializing in theoretical physics. From 1971 to 1973, he served in the Soviet Army. He worked at the V.G. Fesenkov Astrophysical Institute of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan after completing his postgraduate studies in 1977. Position held - Junior Researcher since 1977, Senior Researcher since 1985, Chief Researcher since 1996, Head of the Celestial Mechanics Laboratory since 2006, then from 2007 to 2009 - Director of the Space Research Institute, since 2010 - Head of the Space Mechanics and Materials Science Department of the Space Research Institute, since 2011 - Head of the Ballistics and Spacecraft Control Department, since 2012 - Head of the Laboratory for Calculating Orbital Parameters and Geopositioning of the U.M. Sultangazin Space Research Institute of JSC NCSRT of the NSA RK. Along with his scientific work, he has been teaching at various times at the Almaty Technological University, KazNTU named after K.I. Satpayev, and KazNU named after Al- Farabi. In 1978, he successfully defended his candidate's dissertation on the topic of "Integrable cases of the Hamilton-Jacobi equation and some non-stationary problems of celestial mechanics", and in 1995, he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic of "Non-stationary problems of celestial mechanics" in the specialty 01.03.01 - "Astrometry and celestial mechanics" at the P.K. Sternberg State Astronomical Institute at the M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University. In 1991, the Higher Attestation Commission of the USSR awarded him the academic title of Senior Researcher. Since 1995 – Full Member of the New York Academy of Sciences. Since 1996 – Member of the National Committee on Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 2004, the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan awarded him the academic title of Professor. Scientific interests cover problems of celestial mechanics, stellar dynamics, and the theory of gravity. More than 200 scientific papers have been published, eight students (1 doctorate, 5 candidates, 2 PhD doctorate) have been trained, who have been awarded academic degrees from the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Science Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
