Born in 1959, Doctor of Law, Professor, graduated with honors from the Faculty of Law of S.M. Kirov KazGU in 1981. From 1981 to 1997 he worked at the Institute of State and Law of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR, where he held the positions of MNS, NS, SNS, head of Department and Deputy Director for Science. In 1986 he defended his PhD thesis on the topic: "Decrees of the Kazakh Autonomous Republic, which abolished customary legal institutions", and in October 1997 he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic "Traditional legal culture in nomadic Kazakh society". From 1998 to 2002 He worked at the Department of Theory and History of State and Law of the Faculty of Law as a professor. From September 2002 to August 2011, he was the head of the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law of the Faculty of Law of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Kenzhaliev Z.Zh. is a highly qualified specialist, reads general and special undergraduate courses in two languages, directs graduate and diploma works of students, master's and doctoral dissertations. He has more than 100 scientific papers, including 10 monographs. He has trained 16 candidates of law. The scope of his scientific interests is quite wide, from general problems of the theory of state and law of the Republic of Kazakhstan to problems of the theory of constitutional law and issues of constitutional construction of the CIS countries and the Republic of Kazakhstan.
