Alexandr Yushkov, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, graduate of the Faculty of Physics at Kazakh State University named after S.M. Kirov. He began his scientific career in 1967 at the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Academy of Sciences as an engineer. At this institute, he consecutively held positions as engineer, junior research scientist, senior research scientist, leading research scientist, and chief research scientist. Subsequently, he was appointed Deputy Director for Science at the Institute of Radiation Safety and Ecology of the National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Director of its Almaty branch. In 1997, he transferred to Al-Farabi KazNU as a Professor, where he continues to work to this day. In 1970, A.V. Yushkov defended his Candidate of Sciences dissertation, and in 1990 he earned his Doctor of Sciences degree in the specialty of "Physics of Atomic Nuclei and Elementary Particles." In 2002, he was awarded the academic title of Professor in Physics. He is the author of over 250 scientific papers, textbooks, and teaching manuals, including a three- volume edition on the general physics course: Vol. 1 "Fundamentals of Physics," Vol. 2 "Physics of Elementary Particles," and Vol. 3 "Physics of Atomic Nuclei." The courses he teaches bear similar titles; in addition, he lectures on alternative and nuclear energy, radioecology, and nuclear-physics experimental techniques. Among his students are 4 Candidates of Sciences, 2 PhD Doctors, and numerous master’s and bachelor’s degree graduates. His most significant scientific contributions include: "Experimental Determination of the Magnitudes and Signs of Nuclear Non-Sphericity," "Experimental Discovery of the Phenomenon of Alpha-Particle Nuclear Matter," "Experimental Justification of a New Quasicrystalline Model of the Nucleus," "Discovery of Fresnel-Type Diffraction of Alpha Particles on Heavy Nuclei," among others. A.V. Yushkov currently implements new scientific projects at the Department of Theoretical and Nuclear Physics of Al-Farabi KazNU and at the Laboratory of Nuclear Interactions and Radiation Safety, which he founded. He has been and continues to be a member of numerous scientific and scientific-technical councils, dissertation defense committees for Candidates, Doctors, and PhD degrees, editorial boards of scientific journals, and organizing committees of various national and international scientific conferences.
