I, Yerlаn Kenzhebеkovich Nurmukhambetov, was born on May 17, 1956, in the city of Zaisan, East Kazakhstan Region. In 1973, I graduated from Katon-Karagai Secondary School. From 1974 to 1976, I served in the Soviet Army, reaching the rank of senior sergeant. From 1977 to 1983, I studied at Patrice Lumumba Peoples’ Friendship University in Moscow at the Faculty of Philology, graduating with honors. From 1983 to 1989, I worked in Almaty at Kazakh State University after S.M. Kirov in the Department of Russian Language for Foreign Students as an assistant and senior lecturer. From 1986 to 1988, I worked in Kabul, Afghanistan, at the Polytechnic Institute. From 1989 to 2011, I worked in Minsk, Belarus, at the Belarusian State Economic University as a senior lecturer. From 2011 to 2019, I worked in Astana at Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools as a moderator. Since 2019, I have been retired. Since 2022, I have been working at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University at the Faculty of Philology in the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature.
