Zhaksylykov Aslan Zhamelevich, Academician of the International Academy of Informatization, Doctor of Philology, Professor of the Department of Theory and Methodology of Translation of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, member of the Writers' Union of the Republic of Kazakhstan, nominee of the Booker Literary Prize, translator. Zhaksylykov A.Zh. was born in 1954 in the village of Samara, East Kazakhstan region. In 1971 he graduated from Samara Secondary School. In 1972-1974 he served in the ranks of the SA. In 1979 he graduated from the Philological Faculty of S.M.Kirov Kazakh State University. From 1979 to 1990 he worked as a teacher at the Department of Literature of Kazgoszhenpi. Zhaksylykov A.Zh. He has been working at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University since November 1990 as an associate professor of the Department of Kazakh Literature, since September 2000 - professor of the Department of Kazakh Literature, since September 2005 - Professor of the Department of Theory of Literary Translation and Literary Creativity (now the Department of Theory and Methodology of Translation). In 1984 he defended his PhD thesis on the topic "M.O. Auezov's prose of the 20s and 30s (psychologism, conflict, narrative forms). In 1998, the publishing house "Kazakh University" published a book by Zhaksylykov A.Zh. "Religious motives in fiction". In September 1999. Zhaksylykov A.Zh. after completing his doctoral studies, he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic "Images, motives and ideas with religious content in the works of Kazakh literature" (typology, aesthetics, genesis), specialty 10.01.08 – theory of literature. In 2003, he was confirmed in the academic title of professor in the specialty - literary studies. Zhaksylykov A.Zh. is a general specialist with extensive encyclopedic knowledge in the field of Kazakh, Russian literature, literature of the CIS peoples. He has published more than 200 scientific works, including a monograph on fundamental theoretical problems of literary criticism - "Images, motives and ideas with religious content in the works of Kazakh literature" (typology, aesthetics, genesis) volume 26.3 pp. l. (Almaty, Kazakh University, 1999). In 2024, he was awarded the title of Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
