Autobiography

I, Lazat Seitzkasiyevna Spankulova, graduated with a gold medal from secondary school in 1980. In the same year, I entered the Faculty of Mathematics at S.M. Kirov Kazakh State University and graduated with honors in 1985. From 1985 to 1990, I taught at Alma-Ata Energy Institute in the Department of Engineering Cybernetics. Then, from 1990 to 2000, I worked as a Lecturer and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Systems and Technologies, Narxoz University. In 1999, I successfully defended my Candidate of Sciences dissertation in the specialty 08.00.13 – "Mathematical and Instrumental Methods of Economics" at the same university. In 2002, I entered the doctoral program at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU) and defended my doctoral dissertation in economics in 2006. From 2005 to 2010, I held the position of Scientific Secretary of the Dissertation Council for Economic Specialties at KazNU. From 2000 to 2013, I worked as an Associate Professor and then Acting Professor at the Department of Macro- and Microeconomics, KazNU. Between 2014 and 2016, I held the position of Research Professor at Narxoz University. From 2019 to 2020, I served as the Chief Research Fellow at the Economic Research Center, HSEB, KazNU. Since September 1, 2020, I have been an Associate Professor in the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism, KazNU. I have participated in various seminars at the RES, HSE, and the European University in St. Petersburg. Between 2000 and 2022, I received research and educational grants from the Yegor Gaidar Foundation, John and Catherine MacArthur Foundation, Soros Foundation, and EERC for participation in research and educational projects. In the 2008- 2009 academic year, I was awarded the title of "Best Teacher of Al-Farabi KazNU". In 2010, I received the title and grant of "Best University Teacher", which I used for research and scientific trips to Moscow and Beijing in 2011. In 2021, I became the recipient of the "Best Scientific Worker" award. I have published more than 200 scientific works. Currently, I am the research supervisor of projects AP09259811 "Development of a quantitative methodology for identifying population groups willing to support the introduction of drug insurance and financial stability assessment of this insurance type in Kazakhstan" (2021-2023) and AP14869863 "Development of a methodology for assessing the impact of income inequality on the level of utilization of medical services".
