Marem Buzurtanova M. Buzurtanova graduated from the Kazakh State University of International Relations and World Languages with a specialist diploma in 1997. In 2013, she obtained a master's degree from the Kazakh-German University, Department of Social and Political Sciences and defended her thesis on "Maintaining international peace and security of the UN Security Council: the position of the United States from 1989 to 2005". In 2014, she graduated from the School of Advanced Studies of the University of London with a master's degree in Understanding and Securing Human Rights; in 2016, she obtained a certificate of postgraduate education in public international law from the UCL and Mary College of the University of London in “Resolution of International Disputes"; " Law of Treaties"; “UN Human Rights Charter and Treaty Bodies". Two years ago, M. Buzurtanova completed her PhD studies at Al-Farabi KazNU, Chair of Political Science and Political Technologies of the Department of Philosophy and Political Science; she is currently completing work on a dissertation on "Relations between civil society and the state as a factor of political stability in Kazakhstan" under the supervision of Professor Gulnar Nasimova and Professor Ajay Patnaik (Center for Research in Russia and Central Asia, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India). In 2001, M. Buzurtanova began to work at Chair of Foreign Languages of the Department of International Relations of al- Farabi KazNU. From 2011 until 2011, she occupied the positions of instructor, senior instructor and deputy chairperson. From 2011 to 2015, M. Buzurtanova worked as an expert translator at the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of Kazakhstan. In 2015, she became one of the authors of "Soft and Hard Skills" programme and course book and in 2018 - the director of the "Inclusive Higher Education in Almaty" project at the BILIM Central Asia Educational Center. Since 2018, she has been working as a senior lecturer at the Chair of Political Science and Political Technologies of the Department of Philosophy and Political Science of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. M. Buzurtanova has been engaged in research and professional developmental: she participated in the project of the MES AR05134108 "Educational migration from Kazakhstan: trends, factors and socio-political consequences", which successfully completed in 2020 and participates in the MES AP08857524 "Protest potential in Kazakhstan:
