Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Rimmf Zhaxylykbaeva graduated with honors from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, completing her Bachelor’s degree (1996), Master’s degree (1998), and PhD studies (2000). Since 2002, she has been working at the Faculty of Journalism of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Department of Print and Electronic Media: Lecturer (2002–2003), Senior Lecturer (2003–2008), Associate Professor (2008–2015), and since 201 —Acting Professor. On March 27, 2002, under the supervision of Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Baurzhan Omirzhanovich Zhakip, she successfully defended her PhD thesis on the topic “Sherkhan Murtaza — Publicist, Editor.” R. Zhaxylykbaeva is the author of several textbooks: “Sherkhan Murtaza — Publicist, Editor” (2003), “The Creative Workshop of a Publicist” (2009), “The Creative Workshop of a Publicist” (2nd edition, 2011), “Journalist’s Ethics” (2013), “Skills of Writing a Journalistic Text” (2018), as well as the monograph “The Master of the Word: Sherkhan Murtaza” (2025).She has published several articles in international academic journals indexed in Scopus and according to Hirsch index metrics. In addition, she served as the responsible editor of A.Askarov’s book “Tagdyr” (2007), a member of the editorial board for A. Askarov’s “Onegeli Omir” (2017), and the compiler of Ü. Uaidin’s textbook “Journalist’s Ethics: Facets of Morality and the Press”. For undergraduate, master’s, and PhD students of the Faculty of Journalism, she teaches courses such as: “History of Kazakh Journalism,” “Media Ethics,” “Creative Workshop of a Publicist,” “Development Strategy of Traditional Media,” “Media System of Kazakhstan,” “New Research Methods in Journalism,” “Data Literacy and Storytelling,” and others. She supervises bachelor’s and master’s theses and consults PhD candidates. Over the years, she has held several responsible positions: Technical Secretary of the Dissertation Council K14.A01.19 (2002–2008); Academic Secretary of the Dissertation Council for PhD Defenses in Political Communication in Journalism (2005–2008); Deputy Dean for Research (2009–2011); Academic Secretary of the Faculty Academic Council (2002–2011,2017–2024).In 2018–2019, she was a member of the Republican Educational and Methodological Council at L.Gumilyov Eurasian Nat. University.Currently, she serves as the Chief Editor of the faculty’s educationaland practical newspaper “Journalist”.
