Autobiography

Toxanbayeva Nurgul Korgadzhanovna is a Doctor of Psychological Sciences, an experienced scholar and educator who has devoted more than 33 years to working in the higher education system. From 1990 to 1994, she studied at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of Shakarim Semipalatinsk Pedagogical University, majoring in Pedagogy and Psychology. In 1996–1998, she completed postgraduate studies at the Department of Psychology of Abai State University, defending her Candidate dissertation in 2001 and her Doctoral dissertation in 2009. In 2005, she was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor in Psychology, and in 2025 she received the academic title of Professor in Psychology. Her academic and teaching career began in 1994 at Shakarim University, where she worked as a trainee lecturer in the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology. She later worked as a lecturer at Abai University, then as an associate professor and professor at the Departments of Ethnic and General Psychology at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Since 2011, she has been serving as a professor at the Department of General and Applied Psychology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Her scientific interests include communication psychology, personality development, experimental psychology, and pedagogical psychology. She has published more than 160 scientific works, including monographs, textbooks, teaching manuals, and articles in international journals. Many of her studies have been published in Scopus-indexed journals and have gained recognition both nationally and internationally. Nurgul Korgadzhanovna actively participates in international conferences, presenting significant research findings in ethnopsychology, personality development, and communication psychology. Under her supervision, 3 PhD doctors, 6 candidates of sciences, and 21 master’s degree holders have successfully completed their theses. She was awarded the title of “Best University Teacher” in 2008 and 2009. Throughout her professional career, Nurgul Korgadzhanovna has made a significant contribution to the development of innovations in the educational process and to the formation of scientific culture and practical competencies among future specialists.
