Zhanar Raimbekova studied for a bachelor's degree in "Hydrometeorology" at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University from 2008 to 2012 and a master's degree in "Hydrology" from 2012 to 2014. She began her professional career in 2012 as a hydrologist-expert at the State Agency "Kazselezashchita" under the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan. From 2014 to 2021, she worked as a chief hydrologist engineer in the Department for Disaster Prevention and Operation of Protective Structures. Since 2017, Raimbekova Zh. has been teaching undergraduate and master's students in Kazakh, Russian, and English. In September 2017, she enrolled in the PhD program in "6D061000 – Hydrology" at the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. She is the author of more than 20 scientific publications, including six indexed in the Scopus and Web of Science databases. She has experience in Kazakhstani and international research projects related to the study of hazardous hydrological phenomena. She has completed internships at the University of Reading (UK), the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the KoICA organization (Korea), the University of Valencia (Spain), the University of Oregon (USA), and other international institutions.
