Sultan Yertay - PhD (Order No. 701 of 2018 of the Ministry of Education and Science of the
Republic of Kazakhstan), a member of the Council of Young Scientists of the National Academy
of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2011 he achieved Bachelor in "Philology: Kazakh language" and in 2013 successfully
graduated the Master degree in "Philology: Literature" at Al-Farabi University. In 2014-2017
studied in doctoral studies within the framework of the joint educational program
"Integration of Science and Education" between M.O. Auezov Institute of Literatur e and Art
and Al-Farabi University with a degree in "6D021400 - Literary Studies". In 2018 he
successfully defended his PhD thesis on the topic "Transformation of the Modern Novel" based
on a comparative analysis of modern English, Spanish, Italian, Japanese and Kazakh novels.
He is in an author of several articles, published in scientific journals included to the
international databases as Scopus and WOS and in scientific journals recommended by MSHE RK;
5 collective monographs; copyright certificate for a textbook; certificates of accreditation
as a subject of scientific and scientific and technical activities.

He passed scientific internships at the Earth Institute of Columbia University and UN
Sustainable Development Program (2012, USA), Academic mobility program at University of
Cadiz (2013, Spain), Scientific research on PhD thesis at University of Granada (2016,
Spain).
Research areas: genre transformation of the modern novel, mathematical modeling of the
hybrid novel chronotope, genre transformation of modern journalism, data journalism, higher
education and science management, new trends and trends in international journalism.
Winner of the scholarship of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of
Kazakhstan for gifted young scientists (2018), scholarship holder of the international
